A powerful source of femtosecond visible light pulses with a central wavelength of 515 nm can be created on the basis of ytterbium laser radiation with wavelength of 1030 nm con verted to second harmonic. Such light pulses with the duration shorter than 20–30 fs and having energy of ∼(10–100)μJ may be widely used. For example, in biology, laser micromachining, parametric laser pumping, and so on. However,the duration of the output pulses of ytterbium laser systems which are designed on the master oscillator-amplifier scheme and operate in the (10−2–1) mJ energy range is longer than
