皮秒脉冲光源是基于激光二极管或发光二极管（LED）的激光器，重复频率可调，最高达80MHz。波长从245nm到1990nm可选，脉宽最短可至40ps。可见光版本的激光器（超连续谱Solea）的重复率和波长是可调的，功率等级从微瓦到几百毫瓦（光纤放大版本）。脉宽最短可到40ps。需要注意的是，所有的参数跟波长相关。

Time-resolved photon detection is a standard measurement method in today's research. It is an extraordinarily capable and versatile optical measurement technique, which by design and definition uses only single quanta of light and therefore matches the requirements of applications where the light emission to be observed is very weak.
