To celebrate the Dragon year 2012, i write a post to introduce virtual instruments, which is rather crucial to my instrumental R&D experience in physics and material science field, The maintext has been written in Chinese:http://bbs.instrument.com.cn/shtml/20111230/3762385/

During last weekend, i collected some pictures to demonstrate how to analyze Laue diffraction patterns for single crystals. The explanation was written in Chinese. Here is the url for visiting: http://bbs.instrument.com.cn/shtml/20110918/3537928/i hope it is helpful for related students.

During the Chinese National-Day holidays, it's my pleasure to finish and release the video tutorial for powder XRD refinement using GSAS, which was requested by 5-6 post graduate students. Hopefully, the videos can do some favor for their powder XRD practice. All videos with public url's have been listed below:1. The way to get .gsas raw file.2. The process to find profile parameters.3. The method about instrument file preparation.4. Details of refining Si standard, as well as process of cell parameter determination.5. A complete application of crystallinity determination, also available for crystalline phase content determination. The interpretation with these videos was written in Chinese:http://bbs.instrument.com.cn/shtml/20100930/2832948/A typical video is just like this:

General concepts about crystal growth have been summarized based on my personal interest, which is mainly after the ISSCG14 lectures in Dalian, Aug. 2010.. Growth interface. Nucleation. Transport. Morphology . Chirality . ModelingThe maintext was presented in English, with Chinese interpretations. Two years are like one Augenblick. Thanks to the kind invitation and nice guidance with pretty balance between strictness and freedom from Priv.-Doz. Dr. Lunkenheimerand Prof. Loidl, i have learned so much from the EP5 group in EKM (Uni Augsburg) and enjoyed these wonderful two years. Before leaving off toward Beijing, i want to appreciate those who have given me kind help, those who have shared me fun and inspiring discussions and those who have closely collaborated with me, as well as Priv.-Doz. i have been excitedly emerged in two topics:1. Wide-band (from DC to MeV) instrumentation and measurement.2. Crystal growth.Other links from me:1. Literature notes: http://www.xinkexue.com/7122. Yestday i made a mistake when understanding a particular electron wave function picture for HTSC(high temperature superconductors), but i have found and corrected this mistake. The point behind this is I4/mmm = I (4/m)mm but not I 4/(mmm). 4/m is a fundamental improper rotation or rotoreflection or rotary reflection axis but DOES not include normal 4-axis operation. The details were written in Chinese:http://www.instrument.com.cn/bbs/shtml/20090423/1853399/
